I have taken a bit of a break from blogging and I am finally back at it and wanted to give an explanation for my recent absence.
Flashback to a few years ago and I was fresh out of college and ready to take on the corporate job market. I was so excited, thought I had the best resume ever and I was ready to land the job of my dreams! A year or so past a few hundred job applications and interviews later I wasn’t finding that dream job I thought was out there for me. I was discouraged and so down on myself I had no idea what to do next — I knew I wanted to be in a job that allowed me to do a little bit of everything, allowed me to be creative and eventually allowed me to be my very own boss. This was always day dream I had for myself down the road of course.. when one day it just hit me.. WHY WAIT?! All these doors slammed in my face and rejection from the corporate world which is where I thought I wanted to be — but I realized why not create my own door, my own opportunities and with that Rose and Grace Market quit being a day dream and started to become a reality.
I am blessed with a mother who is not only my number one cheerleader but also my best friend — and when she said she would go in on the idea of Rose and Grace Market with me I felt like God was saying “FINALLY — YOU HEAR ME, THIS IS WHAT I WANTED YOU TO DO” So for months we prepared — salvaged vintage furniture and decor, we found vendors to supply us with goods, I even learned how to use power tools to create handmade signs! All our prep work and sleepless nights had led up to our big launch at our very first pop up shop at the Fancy Flea Market a few weekends ago. The feedback we had at our show was amazing, the turnout of customers and the all of the amazing comments they made about our booth and merchandise filled my heart with so much joy. For our first show it was a HUGE success and in a few weeks we will be officially launching new merchandise on our website HERE so stay tuned for that, as well as updated pop up shop schedules!
